While crusing in gear my shifter can go to neutral w/o use of the clutch?

While crusing in gear my shifter can go to neutral w/o use of the clutch?

Alright so I was driving to work today and while on the highway traffic was slowing down a bit so I let off the gas in 5th gear. While doing this my hand must of been pulling down on the shifter and after slowing down a bit my shifter goes to neutral without any use of the clutch. Is this a normal occurrence or is this a sign of a tranny going bad?

You can go out of gear without clutch... you can also shift into gear without clutch if you know your car well enough.
