Grounding system really work?
Do you guys think a grounding system really works?? Is it worth the money.
what do you think of the ebay ones: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors...33692

Can't speak for the voltage stabilizing thing...but the grounding kits on ebay are generally crap. I had one...the holders weren't crimped onto the wire ends and in general it would be worth it more to just buy wire and just make the grounding kit yourself.
A magazine was installing a grounding kit on an H22 and running dynos at the same time. They actually lost horsepower by just straping things down t ground. There are strategic points to ground and in general... not worth it.

Do you have a link?? What you said does not make any sense.
Adding more grounding points can only help the car run better.

it couldn't hurt it.
The question is, "is it worth it" To me... no. I would save up and get something else. You can make your own kit for 1/3rd the price that will do the same thing. As far as "does it free up power?" Yes it does. I have seen 2 dyno graphs where the gain about 3whp.... thats not bad, but I would rather put the money elsewhere.

Do a little research and then just replace your stock grounds with good clean wire, and sand the mounting points totally clean so you have good connection.
just go to a local car audio shop and buy some wire and terminals. you can run whatever guage you want this way, and it'll cost under $10. I don't know if it really helps, but it can't hurt.

Those "voltage stabilizers" (aka caps) are dumb. A healthy battery is the best cap you'll never need.
For $50+ shipped, buy the wire & hardware separate & put it together yourself.

If you have an alternator whine in your speakers, it may help sound.

Read the paragragh below dyno notes. Hell... read the whole thing. It says "we actually lost power" somewhere. Anyhow.... still not worth it.

well, i put an Apex-I Super Grounding System on my H22 and i got 1.82 whp and approx 1 lb torque. Mind you, that it took 3 pulls on the dyno to acheive this. The OBDII seems to take a few runs to "learn." I dont think that just wires do the trick. Buy one from a big brand that has done the research. i bought one of those ebay brand grounding system, and i lost power. i guess the voltage stabilizer box on it does more.
here is the link to what i bought (at bottom)

Heheh, heat soak on the dyno.

That's not how the ECU works, and dynos can vary more than that from run to run without changing anything on the car.

Or more likely, the engine finally got up to operating temps.
