Default 01 CBR 600 - need help w/ sprockets

I have a 01 CBR 600 F4i
I want some more torque and quicker acceleration on my bike, and im not really concerned about losing top speed. Im new to the whole bike thing and I was wondering if anyone knew details about sprockets...do I need a front and rear sprocket, different chain? what sprocket is a good size? Just looking for some more info on this matter. Thanks in advance.

Generally, when you replace your chain or sprockets, you want to do them all together. Putting a new chain on worn sprockets will decrease the life of the chain. Vice versa applies for new sprockets.

A smaller countershaft sprocket (the front one) or a larger rear sprocket, or a combination of the two, nets you an increase in acceleration. You will be running higher rpms for a given speed. And, unless your speedometer is driven off the front wheel (which, for F4i's, I believe it isn't), your speedo reading will be higher.

I think most people go with -1 / +2 (front sprocket down one tooth, rear sprocket up two teeth).

I buy all my stuff from Terra Powersports (www.terra-powersports.com). Definitely check them out. They can usually beat most prices. With regards to the number of links you need for your chain, that can be determined when you go to size up the chain on the sprockets. It's similar to finding the right eyelet for your belt.
