Stock itr clutch: How long did yours last, and with how much power?
I was just thinking about this and realized that after I started making over 175whp, my clutch started going... Over 5k launches and it would spin as much as the tires used to...
Now that I'm at 185whp, it will engage fine at 3k rpms but launches higher than that with any agressiveness are accompanied by clutch spinning... I have 11k miles exactly on this car and clutch.
Would you guys please post up the following:
- your year itr
- how many miles the clutch failed at
- your known whp at the time of clutch failure
- the kind of driving you do/ did on it. i.e.: autox, drag, road racing, daily driving, etc.
'00 45K miles, 190+HP.
replaced NOT due to failure, just upgraded.
Plenty of life left because i'm not a dragging ***.

2001 10k miles, glazed the clutch doing a burn out, and I just revieced the toda/exedy clutch TODAY!!!!. The stock clutch is OK but I can't what to install the new one. I've heard that the stock pressure plates are not that good, so if you just replace that you should be ok. BUT my theory is if your going in there, change it all (no need to pull the tranny twice)

8,000 miles
Stock, + JDM header, and cat
At the time I was a "Drag ***" (Yack's quote)
Miss shift @ 8400 will cause clutch failure

Drag Racing is COOL!
Road Racing SUCKS!
hahaaaa
uhh my mods are as listed below w/ Apexi AFC and cam (toda B's)
my whp is about uuhhhh 187.5 (what a guess lol)
my clutch did not fail it just wasn't gripping light normal, it wouldn't grab as hard as I would liked, that why I got the toda flywheel and exedy clutch (exedy used on skylines *drool*)

in my hybrid that i used to have, the ITR clutch i had lasted the whole time i had the car... drag strip every weekend, 188/133 at the wheels, even launched on slicks a few times.
i'd say 20,000 hard *** miles.
also, i have ITR clutch on my b20/b17 beast. no slippy, but then again it's fairly new.. like 3 or 4k miles on the clutch.

Stock motor. 53K miles. Drags twice, 9 runs total. 3 ProSolo's (20+ hard launches each), a myriad of autocross events and some hard street driving. It's still alive, but starting to pulse on slow starts. Bleeding the clutch servo did wonders, however, to bringing new life back into the clutch when I thought it was dead way back at 20K miles.
23,000 Miles
195 whp
4 autocrosses
3 track days
50 trips down the drag strip
130 dyno runs
9300rpm redline
sees 9000rpm every other day
Stock clutch, that seems to be still working fine...even after I abused it at the drag strip this weekend, 7 runs with dumps ranging from 4000-5500 rpm.

P.S. the clutch will be changed out when I change the flywheel and FD...who knows when that will be though
