Overheating again
Hi today my car overheated again
I changed the thermostat and flushed the radiator and topped it up with coolant/water about a month or two ago. Today i did some mad 3rd gear vtex because I was in a rush and while the car was moving the temp went up to about 3/4 full whereas normally its slightly under 1/2 way. Then it eventually dropped back down when i was at cruising speed. Also I have bridged my fan so it runs constantly.
What's up? I don't seem to be losing water. Hope it's not water pump or headgasket. Car still runs strong Doens't overheat in traffic either anymore.

if your losing coolant itll likely be a waterpump ($50 or so, but if u dont do it urself labor is gonna run ya)

Someone suggested to me my timing belt could have jumped a tooth. But then i can accurately set my ignition timing to 16 degrees and my car doesn't run like ****.
Could it be the radiator cap?
Yeah the problem before was when i was stuck in traffic it would overheat but now it overheated when i went for a "spirited" drive, but has only overheated once.

it could be a lot of things. first of all having your fan on all the time should stop that.
and dont ever use the radiator flush from kragen or autozone that **** sucks and it clogs the radiator.
do this.... take the radiator cap off and drain all the coolant, look to see if there is rust inside in the channels or anything.. also when you fill it back up put the radiator cap back on make shure the overflow is to the full position and start the car up wait till it gets to operating temperature ( it may take a while because of the fan bieng on ) find the bleeder valve that should be on the upper radiator hose port on the head loosen that up and get all the air bubles out.
if you get an air pocket in the water pump that could cause it.
i have had a radiator that looked fine that didnt have any rust spots at all and after screwin 2 motors up from overheating all the time ( thank god d16z6 is only 250 ) i decided to get a 2 row wich fixed the problem right away.

i bled out my coolant system with the heater turned on full. Didn't need much water. There was no big bubbles gushing up so i doubt its the headgasket.

radiator is sweet, when i drained it the fluid looked good. Its a one from a JDM EG9 SiR and i believe its made from allumimium? So it doesnt rust.
Also, when i was bleeding my radiator i noticed a couple of small bubbles appearing probably once every 15 seconds. They are not big bubbles but small. Also when i rev the motor with the cap off, water gushes out.
I know bubbles are a sign of blown headgasket but they were only small bubbles and not consistent, only a couple of bubbles every 15 seconds. Oil is fine and there is not oil mixed with coolant in the radiator. No thick white smoke from the exhaust

check your thermostat. just go get a new one and put it in it could be the cause of it.
also try this too when the car is cold leave the radiator cap off and run the car and see if theres a lot of bubbles or if its not a lot of bubbles but consistant.
my girlfriend just bought a 94 dx coupe and it ran fine for 3 days.. on the third day it wouldnt stay cool for ****. i hooked the fan up consistant and it still overheated, changed the thermostat, then decided to do the headgasket..... took the head off and the cylinder has a big piece missing where the water port is.
it could be a lot of things. just trial and error man.. also just try to get another radiator in there maybe borrow a friends for an hour or so and see if it still does it

the thermostats usually because the cars not blowing heat AND overheating...ive replaced the thermo (which isn't expensive and hard to do) to find out that i had a blown headgasket
