Default rattling

90 hatch dx, When I have it in neutral and the e-brake is on and the clutch is in it sounds pretty smooth then when I let it out (the clutch) it starts rattling a little bit. Is this normal?

well see the whole damn car rattles like **** when I drive it. Not way to bad but ya know just a bit more than I expected, but yes it does rattle in 1st and 2nd then its smooth in 3rd. Also I think I'm missing a pulley for my ac compressor belt. theres only two pulleys, one is the compressor and the other is the pulley that runs it. The manual had a pic with three pulleys and there is a bolt that looks like its just missing a pulley so that it can adjust the belt. I'ma go take some pics of it and I'll post them tomorrow.

like, quiet w/ clutch pushed in, whirring/noisy with it out but in neutral?

check your tranny fluid-
if ok, input shaft bearing is probably on it's way out sometime in the future.

prolly take a lot more with it when it goes, but it usually gets pretty bad before it finally packs it in.
