When I started my car today, the srs came on and stayed on. I'd like to know how to check whats wrong with it, I don't know if it's like checking the ecu codes by jumping a wire or your really need a connector to plug into the srs unit. my car is a 97 civic cx hatch but it has a acura 1.6 El cluster in it which I put in 3 months ago, everything was working fine till today. I'll try to unhook and hook back the srs harness behind the cluster to see if it clears my problem but other than that I don't know what to do.

I'm sorry I didn't search first but now I have my ecu codes and I think I have two codes the first is 20 and the other is 2. Can someone tell me what it is

I just have one more question, how come it's srs light that came on instead of the check engine light

 

They are seperate. Is your CEL on when you drive the car? If not, then those are just stored codes in your ECU. If its just your SRS light on, then the problem lies solely with your SRS system/wiring. Try resetting the SRS light and see if it comes back on.

 

My light stays on when I drive it so it means that the ecu codes don't mean anything??
