1992 honda civic, trying to turn off airbag light
Im trying to turn off the airbag light in my 92 civic because I have an aftermarket steering wheel. I tried unplugging the airbag module and that didnt turn the light off. Is the airbag light wired back to the ECU? How do I trick it into thinking its working properly? I dont want to just take the bulb out of the cluster.

Dont want to do that, there has to be another way. Any of you guys try putting a jumper wire in the harness to the airbag with any success?

Google up on what resistor you need for the driver side airbag. I never had a need to do this but I've heard it can be done this way.

All you have to do is pull the cluster out and unplug the yellow or green connector. There are 2 (2 wire)connectors at the bottom of the back of the cluster. I'm 90% sure its the yellow plug if not it's the other one. Should only take about 10 minutes and that way you could always plug it back in if needed.

^^^That was what I was thinking of doing next. I was just wondering if there was something I could just unplug (besides the cluster light) that would take care of it as well. Thanks. I'll search for what resistor I need.

A good steering wheel boss allow you to keep your SRS cable reel. Typically they include an SRS-light cancelling resistor. I just installed an HKB OH-215 on my EG and that came with one. If your setup still has the cable reel behind the wheel-boss, but no resistor, you can buy the NRG resistor that is pre-wired. Simply slip it onto the two outside pins of your air-bag connector and the light goes out:
If your boss required you to remove the cable reel, you can still use one of these resistors, but you are going to have to research which pins on the steering column plug should be jumped by said resistor.
Resistor is on the left (horn wire adapter is on the right):
