what is the name of the thing that the timing belt hook to on the crank? I need that part where can i get it

dude i can get that info for you, when i get home i have the prelude parts manual at my crib with part numbers!!

that part would depend on a few things.. If the car is OBD2 it will have a plate on the back of it that is notched so that the Crank position sensor can tell...well the positon of the crank! In an OBD1 car, this sensor is in the distributor. It will also depend if the motor is an h23 or h22, because the teething on the pully will be different. Now an OBD2 pully would look like #17 and OBD1 pully would look like #16 (without the plate on it). You can get that part form anyone who has some junked motors. Chances are if you have an h23, the f22 one would work. But if it an h22, then you would have to contact honda or a honda parts dealer. So if you have a 96-01 h22, then you would need the timing belt pully with the plate on it for the Crank sensor. 91-95 h22 and 91-95 could use either. having the sensor plate wouldnt be in use on an obd1 car.

I know i just over explained that!!
