timing marks
i've searched this prelude forum and a number of h22 threads came up. my question is, is the timing mark on a 90 prelude si(4ws) the same as b series(timing mark on the crank pulley and timing cover) or is it like the h22 since the motor is a b20?
i have yet found a helms manual online(kicking myself for loosing the link).
im used to working with bseries in a EG( its a breeze changing T-belts) but not with cramp working space such as the lude, its not my car btw, the belt snapped and i have to put a new one on.
thanks.

Im not sure about the timing marks on a b-series prelude engine, sorry.
But arent you concerned about the damage done when that t-belt snapped? or are you just going to replace the belt and hope for the best?

You have to use the ignition timing marks o nthe flywheel on a b20a to line up the crank. There is no timing mark on the crank pulley end of the motor like there is on the H22.
A word of advise from experience, and maybe you already know this b/c you said you've done a TB on a b18, the crank can move when you are putting the belt around the cam gears. I had to have someone else hold the crank still using a crowbar in the flywheel teeth while I pulled the TB over the cam gears in order to get everything to line up right. And you have to turn the intake cam gear towards the firewall some while doing it or the cams could end up one tooth off. Boy that was a frustrating day. I ended up doing the TB twice.
Happy wrenching.

I feel you pain. The one I did was an auto too (GF's car). the marks are to smae on the flywheel/flexplate/whatever you want to call it. Everything I said still applies.

you wouldnt happen to have a pick of where the markings on the converter/flywheel plates are would you?
once again, i thank you for your response

if there is not mark on the crankshaft pulley , you might be able to take the plug outta cyl. #1 and put a lonnnng screwdriver in it turn the crankshaft til you see it go up and start to go back down STOP!! : ) and go back a hair ... hope that helps
