Default JDM ITR vs. USDM ITR

What makes the difference in hp ratings between a b18c5 and a b18c itr motor? Is it ecu related or mechanically related?

both ECU and Mechanically are different

JDM=higher comp
USDM =lower comp

JDM ECU= better maps for higher octane
USDM ECU = octane set up for 91

Is Vtec activation on the JDM ITR ECU controled wtih no oil pressure switch input as opposed to the standard USDM knock sensor/oil pressure input?

That not only is the higher compression, but also the better header and exhaust. The JDM exhaust is 2.25" ID opposed to the USDM 2.25" OD.

But you guys got all the nice all motor parts and drag strips to race!
I have to pay around $1000 every 2 years in taxes/inspection or pay the same $1000 or so to get my car inspected/tagged if I pick up a car that has already been deregistered............
The upside is all the cool cars and not worrying about your car getting jacked!
Born/raised lived in Tokyo 90% of my life!

The JDM ECU has no VTEC pressure switch, no EVAP purge valve, and no second oxygen sensor. It's basically like an OBDI ECU with OBDII plugs. Speaking of such things, there is no such thing as OBDI or OBDII in Japan.
