Hydrolocked NEED HELP PLEASE.. SEARCHED ALREADY
I was driving about 30 and i hit a puddle and my car died.. this is on a b16 .. i took the spark plugs out and cranked it, no water came out..
the car wouldn't start when i had the spark plugs in it at all..
wondering what things i should check out before actually opening up my engine.. i wanna get it started so i can get my car into my garage.. can't get it up the steep hill..
should i just buy new spark plugs and try to start it again??
THANKS IN ADVANCED!!

if the engine was really hot as in looong drive then forget about it, pull ity apart, the real damage is done if the water goes below the pistons and fills up(but that takes alot of water) the engine wont crank because of pressure below the pistons. you should drain all you oil, see what its like. put a lil oil in through each spark plug opening and using your lug wrench manually crank the car by turning the crank pulley. If you turn it with no resistance then check for spark(distributor) refill your oil and carefully start the car listening for any sounds of damage. IF you cant crank it by hand then the problem is that the sleeves have fused to the pistons which happens when really hot metal is super cooled by rain water being sucked into your head. you should also stop using a CAI or get a bypass valve like AEM has.
Please try to use this information... I could been a search button A-hole but I told you how to do it instead...

took the motor oil out.. didn't see anything unusual.. no water in intake.. replacing spark plugs and oil now.. hope that works..
haha i'm not going to sell you my motor.. pshh..
ok.. changed oil and spark plugs and after about 10-15 seconds of cranking it started..
what i'm worried about is how to tell if any internals is damaged or not.. i dont' really hear anything out of the ordinary..
i thought i heard some ticking once in a while, but i don't know exactly where its coming from..
i'm going to go for a drive and see if it feels ok.

I have a 2000 civic and dove though a lake, my car bogged down so I just about **** my pants, then I took the intake off poured water out and guessed it to be done. the next day I took the spark plugs out and saw water in them, so I squirt some 90 weight oil in there and turned her over (sparkplugs out), seeing as she turns of I was happy to have all 4 cylnders puffing oil water out. Time is of the essence here, when water hits the cylnder walls then tend to rust up so the oil will prevent that. Cleaned up the intake with paper towels and the intake manafold the same way. AFter turning the engine over a while and was sure it was dry we cleaned the plugs and tried it again, Foom she smoked like a big dawg and burned the excess oil off she now runs perfectly, this is about a month later. oh yeah and while I was doing that I changed the oil there was some water in the oil from when the water ran past the piston rings
drove it ..; seems fine so far.. going to flush the system and change the oil again..
i put synthetic oil in it.. so retarded .. i just wasted 25 bucks
