Are 96-00 LCAs interchangable?
I recently got in a accident involving a bowling ball sized rock. I was going 45 late Wednesdsay evening, glanced down at my cell, then looked up and saw something in the middle of the street, by the time i figured out what it was, I was too late to out manuever it.. it scrapped my lip and hit the outside of my rim putting a huge dent on it. Theres a huge hole in my side wall.. ******* sucks.. I bent my front driver side LCA.. here are the pics.. (yes I know my car is dirty, its been raining nonstop for 2 weeks here)

Poor lip..

Anyone selling one Si rim?

Here you can see the wheel pushed back just a little bit..
Are 96-00 Civic front LCAs interchangable? If they are, I'm gonna go to a junk yard later this week. I need to get these parts asap as this is my only form of transportation.
I would also like to give a big **** U to the shitface that left that rock there..

No they are not! The 99-00 SI have a different sway bar mounting points than the 96-00 EX, and the 96-00 DX- which have NO sway bar mounting points. The SI also has a different fork then the rest.

I thought all Civics had the same front sway bar.

No they don't. I know the SI uses a 26mm sway bar with a ball joint type endlinks, EX and LX uses a slightly smaller one with ruber bushing type endlinks, but I'm not sure of the exact diameter. The way these bars mount onto the LCA is different.

Yeah they are interchangeable if you have a CX/DX/LX/HX/EX but the Si ones are different for the sway bar mounts. Also I had a friend that had almost the same thing happen as you and it didn't bend the LCA because they are pretty strong, but it bent his front sub-frame instead. Just thought I should put this out there just to make sure that is what it is. Good luck that sucks that happen, I hate stuff laying in the road.

EX and LX uses the same 22mm sway bar, with the different endlinks.

Ya that's right, they are all interchangable because the chassis is the same from 96-00. But i'm just saying this to the original poster...If u have an SI, just get another SI LCA. U wont be happy if u get an EX LCA and find out it wont fit ur swaybar.
