with less compression in the Type-R could you run more boost? Or am i being a complete n00b and not factoring in other things besides compression?

 

Well it depends compression is horsepower the higher compression the more power you can make. Running more boost on a type r or gsr motor it all depend on the setup your using either stock or build head of some sort. Running high comp motor w/turbo can make alot of power but the motor will not last as long unless the motor is built right. Low comp motor can be must safer w/turbo application and an another gsr motor are strong motors you can run a decent amount of power on stock internals w/10lb of boost....hey some people my push it and go 12-13lbs boost....
