Gearbox problem (video inside)
I'm getting this metallic rattle/whining sound constantly from the gearbox. When I rev the car and hit redline it gets real loud. I've had this problem for many months, but lately it's gotten a bit louder.
The sound is most noticable at high revs, and at revs under 3000rpm it almost goes away. Happens in every gear.
I've searched the archives, but found nothing.
Hope someone can help me diagnose this problem!
I've just changed my clutch and flywheel a week ago, along with the release bearing and flywheel bearing.
Here's a video (30mb), make sure to turn up the sound:

(just click the link, download and unzip the file)
Thanks

Hi mate,
I'm pretty sure I had exactly the same noise, it was coming from the gearstick to shift rod joint. I just tightened it up and it was sweet. You get alot of vibration from the gearbox.
When you did the clutch, how did you disconect the shift rod from the box. You can either undo it from the gearstick and take the whole thing out with the box or the proper way, which is to take out the spring pin located very close to the gearbox (where the rubber boot is). Thus leaving the shift rod connected to the gearstick. Hope i'm making sense.
