Default need help picking a motor

ok heres the story....i have a 98 hatch. ive had a b16 in it, and presently have a b16 block with gsr head and itr tranny. its a great motor, but i want more torque and am willing to sacrifice top end speed and revs for it. this is for my daily driven car so i need reliability, and i also have added weight in the rear from a competition stereo. im planning on staying all motor with it. im debating right now between a b18b or b20z. im leaning more to the b20z bc of the obvious power benifits. i plan on keeping my itr tranny either way and using it on the new motor. id like your guys input on this.....its not that i havent search....ive done allot of that, id just like some present day opinions from you guys as well.

are you going to sleeve the b20z block? or do you want to run stock bore? i've seen some ls/vtec builds with stock internals putting out good numbers on here. if its built right and no shortcuts you should have a good solid reliable motor for daily driving. also its in the tuning as well. do you have any set goals?

im not looking to build this motor...this is for a daily driven car.......i am going to build an lsvtec in a little while....but my question is if a b20z with an itr tranny would be a good daily driver and if the b20 would stay reliable even with some abuse...but not too much or if id be better off getting an ls and using the itr tranny on that.

i just need a motor with more torque, i cant stand having to rev my motor all the time

go with the B20Z you'll love the torque that beast puts out.the itr tranny is perfect. good luck on your build

i too suggest the b20z over the b18b.
mated with the itr tranny that thing will haul *** off the line. What's really nice is u wont be downshifting everytime u try to go up a hill (like with the b16)
I just recently went from a b20 crx to a b18c crx and i can vouch for the b20s tq being far superior

something to take note on - sitting around 35-4000rpm and just punching the gas in 2nd, make sure your passengers head is on the headrest cuz ive given a my gf a pretty bad smack on the back of the head from the lash

in result, i wasn't "lucky" for a few days
