Intake Camshaft broke in half, Intake cam doesn't rotate
Today after I put the cams in, torqued everything to spec, did everything like you're supposed to, I cranked the car, but it wouldnt turn over. I took the valve cover off to discover that the intake cam was snapped by cylinder #3
Anyway, I take those cams out and put in my stock gsr cams. I did everything again and when I was about to slip the timing belt on, I noticed my intake cam wouldn't turn. I tried turning it by the bolt using a lot of force, but it just wouldn't turn. It turned before the other cam snapped in half.
Whats wrong? Belt valves?
They're Ferrera Valves if it matters
thx in advanced.

what you could have done is after the installation is complete is, you should just turn the crank 2x just to see if everything turns smooth, then if everything goes smooth then crank it...at least u know for sure that it does not have any resistance on any of the turns...

i can spin the dizzy freely when the cam isnt in there, so its not the dizzy right?
Also, if the motor never turned over, can i still have bent valves?

wow...thats really strange...i mean, if everything goes smooth i dont see any reason why it will snap specially on initial start up...i know if you did them too tight it can snap but it takes a lot of heat to snap a cams.

I chose not to name the brand because I don't want this to turn into a huge debat about these cams, and no, they're not obx lol

Pull the cams out and the spark plugs. Take a 10mm L shaped (brakeline tool) and use the leverage on nut on the rocker arm and see if the valves will move. That is the easiest way unless you have a leakdown tester.
Also is this head completely original ( meaning same head and cam caps.)
I have seen people mix the cam caps with different heads and this occurs.

I think a leak down would be your best bet, but it seems odd that the cam doesn't turn.....I have your other cams here and I was looking at them and noticed that the cam cap had put a mark on the cam.....maybe the cam caps are in the wrong spots....double check everything again...and use alot of Assembly lube, I like Synergyn myself, if you need some come by the shop and ill hook you up with some.
