13:1 is too high for the street on pump gas (93-94) octane...one should only attempt this if you are running a high resolution programmable ECU and have done extensive work to the stuff inside your combustion chamber to fight detonation.

I suggest the 1.5mm headgasket from Apexi to lower your compression a bit.

to compliment a high-compression d16, SMSP makes the best header for this engine HANDS DOWN (best headers for any honda for that matter!). Also, an upgraded intake manifold like the Skunk2 (cheap) will benefit you greatly. If your head is unported, i suggest a Crower stage 2 camshaft since this cam does not necessarily need upgraded springs and retainers and can work with a stock head (unported)

Sick gains could be had with a properly ported head and a Crower III cam (with tuning) and the header/ intake manifold combo

port the head or at least a pocket port and get .5 stainess oversized valves valve springs and titanium retainers and a cam

i have comp cam springs and retainers and a stage II comp cam also known as Zex with my turbo set up , you should probably get the stage III

also heard that the web cam is pretty good

13:1 compression on pump is fine get bigger injectors and also some alcohol injection and no worries of detonation....

My buddie was going to run 13:1 compression on his type R hatch with alcohol injection

for a race car...certainly not practical for a street car that you drive close-to-frequently; that compression will have to be dealt with at all rpm levels, alcohol injection will have to be on all the time! Could just increase your HG thickness and not have to worry about anything but a good tune.

stock valves are fine; people have made 180+ whp on an na sohc with stock valves....

if you were spraying, hurt your valves, or were racing exclusively, then consider something other than stock valves....

other than that, stock is MORE than adequate!

i have had nothing but bad experiences with WEB dating back to 1998.

i have had 3 cams from them and one set of valve springs...all of the cams were HORRIBLE profiles and truely represent why regrinds have been far surpassed in todays market by manufacturers who use fresh profiles...

i truley believe that unless you are a professional racer, you will get a poorly performing profile from Web...i gave them THREE tries to make me happy with atleast ONE good profile and they failed every time.

the valve springs? ha- i had a set of double springs and broke an outer spring @ 3k...i called Laurie and asked her to help me out on this one, just send me another spring. They harassed me about install height, that of which was to their SPEC with their SHIMS...i got so fed up and the nonsense that i told Laurie that I am switching to Crower ****...

I have run Crower's single springs and retainers for 50k with no issues and not ONE sign of wear on the retainers, and have run two of Crower's profiles (stage 2 then stage 3) with incredible results and success...

i've had a couple of freinds that run webs one in particular who has a Built SOHC
who dynoed 250+whp with a Web cam springs and retainers on a two stage nitrous set up and no problems.... so i don't know

Yor right if hes going for a daily driver then yeah alcohol injection wouldn't be ure best bet....
so a HG for all motor would be the way to go

it's weird man....i swear there is some strange bias going on over there at Web; i think it might be coast related lol

the pro guys who run Web cams usually get them ground to their spec, and the racer will dyno and dyno till its right, so i never wonder why the pro cams come out good

it's just when you rely on Web for their own opinion on a grind, for me atleast, it's always come out horrible for the setup...

I swear the cali am's are treated with preference by Web over the east coast guys lol; i just can't explain why i've gotten so many poor performing grinds from them; the sohc vtec grinds were the most shocking, since i had such great success with the Crower ones immediately after them....
