Default ebay turbo kits...are they good??

Hey, i gotta question about all these turbo kits on ebay from ss autochrome and other companies like vecco. I kno they arent as name brand as greddy, rev hard and turbonetics, but are they any good? I saw one kit from vecco that had turbonetics turbo t3/t4, turbonetics evolution wastegate and some other HKS name brand stuff, and a front mount intercooler, 12:1 FMU, etc. This kit was a full turbo kit with everything needed. The reason I ask is because i want to boost my 00 GSR this summer, but i dont have 3grand to drop on a full rev hard/greddy/turbonetics kit. Does anyone have have one of these "ebay" kits on their car and how does it run? How is the fitment of these kits?

My budget on a turbo setup would probably be 1700 or so...i know i can piece a kit together for cheaper than a kit from a brand company, but im not sure which things would fit together well, and wat exactly i would need.

check out this kit

I have heard nothing but good things about this guy and it includes name brand parts. There are a few people on here that have this kit or one similar from this guy.

I installed this kit on a Friends car. The setup is nice, and affordable which is a plus. Turbonetics manifold, and wastegate, IC piping fit good just a bit of normal trimming, and we upgraded to a T3/TO4E turbo. We opted to just build our own downpipe, I think the one that came with it was 2.25"? Not sure. Good kit though, add fuel mangement and you're gravy.

Maybe you had a D-series kit or an older kit when they were selling SSAC? I can guarantee you the turbo we got is brand new and none of it is SSAC. He just got it last weekend.

the vecco kit that is linked is the better kit, most of his other kits aressac manis and such, the newer kits are better but he still sells ssac crap.

and the only thing i'll roll a d-series in is my go kart, hahah

do NOT put an ssautochrome kit on an 00' Gsr. You have one of the best engines honda makes and you wanna stick a cheap turbo kit on it? I dont know about you but I wouldnt wanna blow up a 3,500$ engine. Its a little different when you'r boostin a 300$ d series and dont give a ****.

Some of the new cheap ebay kits appear to have Blox cast manifolds and Turbonetics turbos. I'd buy it if I was looking for a cheap turbo kit.

We thought it was blox too at first, but the wastegate is positioned off to the side, it's a turbonetics manifold

No complaints, we drove about 80 miles each way to hockey tonight and did some messing around on the freeway and it hasnt fallen apart yet

well, like alot of the other guys who already posted on here, i was going to automaticaly flame ebay and flame there kits blah blah.....but i actually looked at that link to the ebay sale of the Vecco kit and it actually seems like a really nice kit for the price. I'd reccomend it for anyone looking for an entry level kit just to get some boost. and if u wanted, they let u upgrade to a bigger turbo for $299. and most of their stuff is name brand. well except for the fake type s bov. but everything else looks good. it even comes with tbolt clamps! haha

i was actually thinking about that kit myself. it looks very nice, piping, intercooler, and everything else.

its not a bad price either for a full kit, just missing an fmu, for those that will need it.

Cool, thanks alot for your help, i appreciate it. Ya that was the vecco kit i was looking into..the main components are name brand and it looks good. I dont think i would go for teh ssautochrome stuff like you said, but this vecco kit looks pretty good bc it has turbonetics components. Hopefully if this guy has this kit up for the same price in a month or so, ill go for one....boosted GSR is gonna be hott

Also, as a side note-- Does anyone know if that front mount intercooler would fit behind my OEM 2000 integra fogs? I have the OEM raybrigs on the front, and i dont really want to get rid of them for the intercooler.. plus, it'll give me a sleeper look bc i plan to paint the intercooler flat black and ill have the stock fogs in place so it will look like nothing is behind

anyone know about whether or not the intercooler will fit behind the OEM 98-01 foglights on my 00 teg?...the plan is to have the intercooler while still keeping the OEM fogs in place.
