I am a owner of a 2000 Civic DX coupe. I want to install new DC headers. I know that i'm going to have to get an ex high flow cat and install that also. Here's my question. Sometime in the near distant future, I am going to swap in a b18c5 type R motor.
Once that is done, is it alright to keep the EX cat like it would be? Or do i have to install a type r cat. if this has been posted before i apologize, but i could not find this topic anywhere. any info would b good.

 

save your money and wait. Get a JDM 4-1, or DC JDM 4-1, because the 18c5 requires a longer header thats for b18s. the cat you might need, should be around 17.25 in length, but depends on which header coz of the outlet, 2.5 or stock GSR 1. something. dont waste your money save coz when you get this project, theres lots of spending.

 

save the money and get all the exhaust work done at one time. just keep the part handy and have it ready for your swap...

 

would i be able to keep the ex cat on after doing the swap or would that not work.... would i HAVE TO get an integra type r cat......
