So I'm getting ready to purchase this header along with the S2k donut gasket and 2.5" carsound cat. I have a 96 GSR with an ITR exhaust, with the extended b-pipe. I'm not too sure if I can do the install myself mainly because I don't know if any parts may need to be welded or cut. Does anyone have any insight on this particular install?

 

its not jsut goint to all bolt up, your going to need to get flanges welded and parts cut/added to all bolt together. 80 bucks at a muffler shop approx

 

I figured as much. Thanks for the quick response. What if I were to purchase a Comptech 4-2-1 header instead...would I need to get the carsound cat as well, or would it just bolt up to the stock cat? What are the advantage of upgrading to a carsound cat?

 

you can install the header urself... then drive to a muffler shop with an open header... save urself some money and its kinda fun

 

compared a stock cat the carsound cat will flow a lot better
