Default 3 wire to 2wire IACV wiring conversion

I just put a d16z6 into my 97 del sol s (non-vtec). I used the z6 wire harness. I'm getting a weird idle/driveability problem and a IACV CEL. It'll surge at low rpms ~1500-3000. I found this tech article about the iac wiring. Since the car is wired for a 3-wire iac and im using a 2-wire iac with this z6 engine. My connector looks exactly like the picture below. My iacv is plugged in correctly. I dont see why I still have a code for the IACV and this surge problem.

What happens to the idle if you unplug the IACV?

nothing changes


Well, i spent like 2 hours at honda today with the wiring manuals and the service manuals. Turns out that the wire blk/blu that comes out the the ecu to the wiring obdII harness in the engine bay was in the 4th connnector (pass side) that doesnt connect to the obdI harness on the engine. Then I found out that the wire that comes out of the iacv connector that suppose to connect to the ecu goes to the opposite side engine harness connector (dr side) so i just ran a wire across the engine bay to the connector and everything is running good now, no more cel for the iacv
