Default Std vs auto.. can ECU be used in either?

I am in need of a new ECU for my 92 Civic Si (manual) I believe I need a P28 ECU. Can I use any P28 ECU from 92-95 Si/EX even if it's from an automatic car?

Sorry for the question... but I didn't find it in the search.

Is there a code on the computer that will tell me what if it's for an auto or a manual tranny?

That's what I am wondering... is there a certain code printed on the outside of the computer that will tell if it's an auto or manual?

It will work to get you from point a to point b. Usually there is a MT or AT on one of the labels. Check out pgmfi.org. That site will show you how to look at the board and tell, and also how to convert it if you can solder. If you can't solder, I'm sure someone on the board will convert it for you for the right price.

It will work, and it will not have any adverse effects on your car.
