Help: I keep burning out ignition coils!
I have a 95 LS with a JDM GSR Swap. Im having one problem that wont go away. The ignition coils keep burning out. When I got the swap the coil was bad, so I got another. Then one day I had my car just sitting there idleing and it just dies. Ignition coil again, so this morning I go out to start it. No start, I get another ignition coil and fires right up. Why does it do this. I have no shorting wires inside my dizzy. Thanks for any help in advance.
Why don't you try someone else's distributor (given that it will work for your car, ie: b18C1 distributor or another JDM GSR distributor) and see what happens.
one of the sensors in your dizzy is going bad. it happened to the lady who had my integra before i got it. the acura dealer bent her over and even thanked her after he was done.
I would check your igniter. Happened on my brothers GSR in his EG. The igniter heats up and causes the coil to stop working. I was told by a trusted Honda mechanic and it worked, he said that the old coils were most likely still good

Well, Ive changed ignitors. I went from a used GSR ignitor to another used GSR Ignitor on my last coil and still didnt fire. Then when I change coils it just fires right up.
