Default Racing with an Automatic transmission

I am setting up a LS VTEC motor. I currently have the stock LS trans on it which is automatic. I know I need to swap it to a standard though I am experimenting. So my question would be

During launching what would be the best way to do so. Please no spamming.

Power brake. But don't hold it for more than a few seconds. Heat is the #1 killer of automatic trannys. NEVER do a neutral drop, that's just asking for trouble.

You can look into a higher stall torque converter that would let you launch at higher rpms. The stock stall speed is like 3k rpms.

Get yourself the biggest transmission cooler that will fit in front of the radiator, and your heat problem while you're footbraking it becomes a non-issue. Synthetic fluid is also a good idea, but it gets expensive if you're trying to do this on a budget. Finally, remember that anything that increases the low-end torque of the engine will also effectively raise the stall speed of the converter, and vice versa.

they dont last and the cost alot to rebuild.

no body really knows honda auto trannies and their design performance wise sucks to begin with, especially the 90's honda auto trannies that had unreplacable tranny filter/screens. my auto tranny died after a couple years of very very light nitrous use and aggressive driving, the best mod on my car has been the manual conversion, was well worth it even though it was a major pain in the *** to do.
