Default Automatic trans upgrades.

i know im a lazy *** for having an auto but will do the auto to manual conversion for when i get a turbo for my ls which will be some time from now. but for right now i want to upgrade my auto so i can put some basics in...i heard of doing the torque converter upgrade, what else can i do? i heard someone mentioning something about the main valve body?

It's going to cost some good money to get anything done, unless you're willing to do it yourself. The torque convertor will be the easiest, because you don't have to tear your entire tranny apart like you would for a valve body. Basically, when you change the stall in your torque convertor, your tranny doesn't start spinning at a 1 to 1 ratio with the engine until you hit that stall speed. Meaning, you won't start putting power to the wheels until your at a higher rpm. I'm not sure what the stock stall speed is on an LS tranny but you can probably go atleast 1000 rpm if not more and stay streetable.

I'm not sure what a place would charge to do the upgrades, in my durango it was around $2800 not including core for built tranny (valve body, hardened gears) and a 2800 stall.
