Default sohc vs dohc

I am looking at building my first turbo car. I am wondering if I should stay with the sohc vtec it has in it and build it or just spend the money on a b16/b18c swap? I wouldn't be able to build the dohc because money as you know it doesn't grow on trees. So I would be turboing a stock dohc. In the sohc I am looking at doing sleeves, rods, pistons and a little more. Opinions greatly appreciated!!!!

do you have any future plans after this???

if your gonna build your d-series against a completely stock b18c1, d-series will beat the B. once you get tired of the boosted builded d-series and want more power you will have thrown away alot of money. with the b18c1 you'll need pistons and rods down the road and you can go 400+.

future plans gonna be your main concern.

d-series have a limit, b-series have a limit to but it's way out of reach for the normal guy

I would just stay D-series. But I am just bias.
