ARP head studs, who's running them, who's not?
I'm shooting for 15psi from a Super 60 after rebuilding my engine on a very small budget, these head studs run $103 for the z6, i don't want to have to spend that unless it's absolutely necessary, i'm pushing it for enough cash to buy rods, pistons, and rebuild.

That doesn't tell me anything.
I'm looking for people not running them and if they had problems with head lift (though i really don't know how this happens and what happens when it does) and if so, if the ARP studs actually took care of it... "before and after" results.
Seems like a waste of $100 to me
. I'm just looking for a better understanding.

15 psi on a "super 60"... and you don't wanna run head studs..
this is where i laugh at you. I also take it your not rebuilding the engine yourself, if you are taking on the task of rebuilding an engine.. i suggest you learn a lot more.

i am most definatly using ARP headstuds and rod bolts and looking for main bolts for my LS Built. 15psi and not wanting to buy a $100 part that is vital when going turbo sounds like a cheap *** built, unless you like it when your head jumps off your block

i am on my y8 with a 14b on only 12 PSI but thats with built bottom end...i had to replace my HG so i was like y not my bottem end can hold around 20 PSI but its useless if ur head cant hold that much boost...I bought mines from Titan Motorsport for like 88 shipped...i dont know how much the z6 is though...
look on froogle.com for the best price for the studs....
I personally am i having a motor built and i felt that they were a must as well as their rod bolts!
Do it right the first time , even if it takes longer!

I wasn't being a dick, more sarcasm.
I know how to build engines, this "head lift" is new to me since i bought a Honda.

I blew the headgasket on my boosted y7 last month.I ordered ARP studs but they took too long to get here so I changed the gasket and put it back together with the stock bolts. It hasent blown again yet. But when it does I allready have the studs waiting.
And if there worth it.... It's insurance for your motor, why would you not run them in a built motor?
And I bought mine for 90$ shipped on Ebay

I have them on my NA d16y8 mini-me, and I wouldn't even think about going turbo without them.
ARP headstuds = necessary

According to Honda, you,re not supposed to reuse your head bolts so if you take your head off you need to replace them anyway. AND w/ Honda bolts being only a few $ cheaper than ARP, you might as well get them so you can reuse them and save some $ if you ever tear it back down.
I use ARP head studs, rod bolts, main bolts and flywheel bolts on my B16, ls/vtec, B20 vtec, and B18C... it's all I will buy... I'd rather save my motor than a couple of $!!!

I would definately get the head studs. Especially after all the sohc turbo threads I see about the heads lifting and blowing the head gaskets.
