oK we wont, eventho its not that big of a job. It took me 2 hours to replace a crank seal which is almost the same job cuz of the things you take out. You will save some serious money.

Don't use the dealer, use a good shop thats been around for a long time. If you don't know what shop to pick, heads up. You should always check the shop for cleaness and respect. why? if the shop is clean they will take care of your car and respect, how did greet you.

$425?? that's more than a clutch job should cost. RAPE

i know you said not to do this, but i'm going to anyway. i spent a total of $35 for the crank pulley holder tool and $9 for a thing of coolant, $0.69 for a gallon of distilled water, and whatever it was for the belt and water pump. not only did i save money i learned something. it's really really not that hard, do it yourself.

Oops, my last reply didnt make it.

I did it myself, but even an air wrench didn't make the crank puley any easier to pull.

I did it myself for ~$100 too, but for a SOHC shops seem to charge in the $300-$400 range and for DOHC's it more like $450-$600 range.

Shopkey5 says 2 hours labor, unless cruise control is in the way add .3 hours and if power steering is in the way add another .3 hours. So no more than 3 hours plus cost of part. This is for an EG DX just for an example

Free. I got one of my engines on the engine stand. Try to do it yourself. LMAO, I think I just went against what he asked not to.

This site exists so you can learn to do things like this yourself. That's why I signed up. Took me less than 2 hours to do mine, and cost about $160 including a $90 water pump. No matter what you are having done to your car, you are getting raped on labor. There's no reason to pay that if you can do it yourself. It's not as hard as you think it is.

Do it yourself. $0

Most people charge $250-$400 depending on location.

South Texas, $100-$150.
