Remove Pcv valve and can and replace with greddy catch can?
Can i simply remove the stock pcv valve and can and bracket and just replace it with a gredy oil catch pan , ? Is there an inline pcv valve i can use? I figured less stuff in the bay and cleaner install with the greddy.
A catch can is to put inbetween the nipple on the valve cover and the intake or intake manifold. You run a hose from one connection of the catch can to the nipple on the valve cover and run another hose from the other connection of the catch can to either your intake arm or the intake manifold depending on your setup.
I do know how it works but i just saw a simi heavy bracket and a nasty looking pcv valve and can , whats inside that can? This is on a gsr engine btw. I was just thikning if that can doesn't do anything specific except house the pcv , why not get an inline pcv and just put it between the block and catch can ? Plus i can pull more junk out of the engine bay .
This will help for gsr catch can install.

PCV vents gases out of the block and back into the motor to be burned, it also acts as a check valve to keep the crankcase sealed yet still be able to vent said gases. A catch can collects oil blow by that would normally be going into your IM or down your intake, so you can't really swap the two as they serve different functions, but I guess depending on teh kit, and how it connects, you could.
