the shop owner that sold me mine said it should be straight up and down. also has any body had starting problems with there msd.last night my car would not start so i had somebody else crank it over and i noticed that the top of the coil and the negative post were arching like crazy, so i had to put electrical tape to get it home wile it was bucking on me the whole time.

It's a sealed unit.... when it leaks, it's time to replace it. If it's good, you can even mount it upside down if you like, mines is mounted at 90degree angle.
