96 civic overeated died and won't start???

Default 96 civic overeated died and won't start???

hi I have a 96 civic all stock. it overheated for about 5 minutes or so died at a red light and now it won't start. it turns over the oil didn't have water in it and the timing belt is still intact. it through a code for water temp sensor. but I already took care of that. no I wasn't driving it my wife was. please help. maybe I'm over looking smething.

cant really say can u be more specfic like hows the block any crack etc anything bond or metaled ?

everything looks cool it just died at the stop light and wouldn't start back up.

does it crank ? if it does check if its giving spark? or the whole iginition system, if it doesnt crank check the fuse and and wiring

i would also suggest u do a compression test to see if the head gasket went bad

I checked the oil and it didn't have water in it which leads me to belaive the head gasket isn't blown. and it cranks fine. I didn't check for spark. ran god til overheated and died.

a head gasket can have lost compression even there isnt water in the block

I always thought low compression would mwke it run like trash but didn't know it wouldn't start.
