Default Cost to weld? Any info appreciated

Logn story short, i had a rust spot on my 99 civic 2dr EX that was worse than I thought. I was able to cut it out, yada yada yada, now it looks like this with the primer on it(see below). I have the metal piece cut out ready to weld on but, thres a problem: i hae no welder. I am going to go to a body shop and ask them if they are able to weld it on the car and me doing the rest of the work(smoothing it out, painting and everything else, im jsut wanting them to weld it on and thats all. dont worry iv painted b4 and made it look origional). i am wondering if anyone has any estimates on how much it would cost them to weld that metal piece in to cover that? any info would be helpful.

If you have spare metal to practice on go down to your local Home Depot store and rent a welder for 40 bucks a day. Practice a little and do it yourself (all you really need to do is tack weld spots then fill in) Welding isnt all that hard once you get the flow of it.

I wouldnt be suprised if your going to be looking at a 200 dollar bill to cut and weld the piece on from a body shop.

exahust piping is much thicker and easier to weld than thin sheetmetal the body is made from. i would stay away from muffler shops, unless u know they have experince with body work

Well i know that... to do everything this one shop charges $160 to do it for jsut the body work but $470 to paint it and everything. Thats y i am doing it myself...i might take the advice and rent a welder at home depot and practice on something and then spot weld it to the car and then finish it with welding it all to the car. I have a piece of sheet metal that i can cut pieces out of. The spot looks a LOT better than what it used to and I know i can finish it. It might take a while but this is also a learning experience(but i know what im doin at the same time) so after doin all this, i will have experience doin somethin like this.
