replaced cap and rotor-now car won't start

Default replaced cap and rotor-now car won't start

what's the deal with this?can a coil "just go out" for no apparent reason?anbody had a similar problem?help!

screwed on new rotorand replaced cap plug wires one at a time

whats the part number for both parts?

i had to replace mine recently and heres how it goes:

cap: 301-p72-006
rotor: 30103-p73-003

what happens when you turn ignition key to start?

cap# is jh185 and rotor#is jr 165-and just to make sure i double checked my fireing order

the numbers i got are honda oem, what brand are these?

hmm... is this for itr or for 90-91 integra? looking through their website this matches to 91 integra.. however, in your other thread you mention on having problem broken screw on distributor, is this before or after the problem? and i don't know if using magnet is the best thing around that area as someone replied to you.

Right before Christmas I replaced the cap and rotor on my engine and as soon as I started the car up it idled for about 3 seconds and died. Turns out after some troubleshooting my coil bit the dust on me. It could very possibly be your coil. Follow the troubleshooting procedures in your repair manual and see if your coil is reading the right ohms on a mulitmeter. Thats how I found my problem.

Did you crank the motor with the cap off to align the screw for the rotor? If you did you probably fried the something in the distributor.

You should pull the plugs and turn the motor over by had using the crank pulley.

Did you check for the little spring in the top of the coil?
