Default OMP seat impressions...

My OMP seat finally came in this week, and I installed it this morning. I got the Grip model, with carbon/kevlar shell (sorry to bite your style, Big Phat R). I would give the build quality an 8 out of 10, as the shell is not laid by hand, so there are some small defects in the weave, and bubbling in the gell coat (not in a noticeable spot, though). I got the competition brackets (who needs sliders anyways?) and the Integra bolt in frame. The frame had acurate bolt hole layout, and the right side bracket had just enough room on it to mount my stock seat belt clip. The brackets only had one set of holes so I had to drill new ones to fit me, as Italians are all 5'0", aparently. All in all the install took me about 2 hours, most of which was spent fighting with the right rear anchor bolt which stripped a little on its way out, don't ask me how.

Driving around today, I noticed how much more I can feel the car now. The extra support around corners is nice too. Also, I can feel the acceleration more as the hard flat back of the seat pushes me around. I really like this seat, it puts the stock USDM seat to shame.

I bought an aftermarket seat because I really didn't like how the stock one held my ***. It felt like I was sitting on two wedges that faced each other, like \__/ . My *** would fall asleep on long trips, and I don't like that very much. Now my seat looks like |__|. Mmmmm.... bum is happy....

Sorry, no pics.

Trashing around corners too fast with your seat can be hazardous to your brain!!!

I totally agree... USDM seats are a joke. It's gotta be the weakest link (barring the driver) in an ITR when the car is driven to it's limits.

Have fun in your new seats!

btw, did the new seat drop the ride height at all? Mine is ~2" lower now, but it's not OMP brand.

That is a nice seat. So, you were able to use the stock belt without any problems?

Ya, just had to buy one nut (7/16 - 20) and drill one hole. I'll try to get some pics of the belt sometime.
