help: driver's power door lock actuator install problem
installed new one onto latch while latch still inside door. actuator had about 30 degrees of movement while plugged in un-installed and being tested. after installation, it did not have full movement and little male plug on latch apparently did not go into slot on actuator lever. and key does not actuate power lock at drivers door at all now like the old intermittant actuator.
so i think i have to remove latch from vehicle with actuator installed to verify and do proper install. so it appears, this will necessitate removing the outer door handle also just to unscrew the door handle release rod which is impossible to disconnect from the latch while in the door.
does this all sound about right to make my new actuator work properly?
i only have a haynes manual -and it has no specific procedure-and this is all i can figure at this moment.
had forgot to add, this is '95 lx accord.

phew, problem solved.
by disconnecting the outer door handle-two 10mm bolts- and pushing it out a couple inches with the 3 latch screws removed allowed both assemblies to be pushed up without disconnecting the outside door handle rod-bad design. i did disconnect the lock cylinder rod to the latch. this allowed rotation of the assembled latch/ actuator and great access to the back of the mounted actuator.
the problem was seen, the =/-4mm plastic rod on the latch was not engaged in the actuator hole. with this visual access the problem was quickly solved.
oh yes, totally removing the metal -about 18 inches long-window channel simplfied access also. the channel rubber cushion is fed back into the end of the metal and pulled gently as the metal channel in fed into its return position.
