hes right but the crane cams are pretty decent and make a fair amount of power for the money.....If I remember correctly you can only run a "stage 1" crane cam on stock valvetrain,I had a stage 1 with i/h/e and ran low 15's spinning...good luck...

From experience, its gonna depend what ur lookin for. First ask yourself a few questions.
1)Do I enjoy gas mileage?
2)What is a smooth idle? Will I miss it?
3)Do I want madD Vt3c y0?
4)What future plans do I have for the build-up?
5)How much do I wanna spend?

I myself went with the idea of getting a cam instead of a vtec head swap. My buddy has a a6/z6 mini-me and when it was NA it was quick, but i figured i'd take a different route. I ended up gettin the spec 272 cam from DeltaCam.com (125 shipped), and its pretty damn nice. At idle u can hear that the car is cammed, sounds like a older muscle car. Pulls madd hard in the top end. And best of all i have shitty gas mileage! (21 mpg if i'm lucky, but i beat on the car daily)
I'll soon have it turbo'd and we'll how it likes it. As of right now, with i/h/e, clutch 8lb flywheel, fpr @40 psi, and Skunk2 intake mani, its pretty darn fast. Me and my buddy with an ITR with i/h/e were doin 3rd gear pulls from 60 mph rolls, and it was dead even till i hit 4th, then that madd vtec started pullin from 85+ .
Pm me if you've got any specific questions about the cam or whatnot, i'm sleepy and feel i have written enuff lol.

go the delta cam route. in tacoma washington they make vtec cams for sohc that rock your world if your are going to build your engine either NA or boosted. they will costom build cams for under 200 dollars.
