Help a retard install an AEM UEGO gauge.
I just got an AEM UEGO gauge, and im deciding how i want to install it. Initially i was going to weld in another bung and go that route, but it has been suggested that i just replace the stock primary sensor with the UEGO's sensor. So..
How the hell do i do it? Reading the instructions it says there are different calibrations. I think that narrow bands read 0-1v right? Is that the calibration i need to set on teh back of the gauge?? I think it is, and i got that part under control.
But, how do i wire it in? Electronics has always been my weak point, i know how to wire things, and solder, I just dont understand how to hook the UEGO to my ecu.
Also, if i do this, will i still have a wire left for datalogging?
Thanks for any help

Doesn't that WB have a simulated narrowband output? If yes, then what you do is take out the stock O2 sensor and install the WB sensor. Then feed the simulated narrowband output back to the ECU so it stays happy. You should still have a 0-5v linear output for the actual WB readings so you can datalog, etc...
Do you have a .pdf installation manual? I couldn't find one on AEM's site.

There is one in the forums on aempower.com
Also, you have to change the output to do 0-1v to go to the ecu, but theres only one ouput, and it can only be set to one setting as far as i can tell. The .pdf install isnt much help. Someone here has to know what to do.

Well, then as far as I can tell, you're either right on the money which means you need to weld in another bung so you can actually use it like a wideband (keeping the stock O2 in place to keep the ECU happy) or your wrong, in which case, I asked for the .pdf and you point me to a forum that I gotta register for.
u dont gotta register, just do a search, then u can find it. and btw registering would probably not take long, but like i said i just searched.
Also, if u search for uego on h-t u can find the link to the aempower pdf

listen, i could have it if i wanted to go look for it on the aem site, even though i am not registered. BUT, i have the box w/ the same identical instructions so i have no need for it.
I will look to see if i can find teh pdf for you sometime
