my launching technique and 60ft
I have gsr hatch with I/E and pretty bald all-season tires. I ran a 14.300@98mph with a 2.268 60ft. I "launched" slightly above idle around 1200 to 1500rpm. I tried launching at almost every rpm, and this gave me my best time. Anyone else try this method, I know another guy at the track ran a 13 flat in his ls-vtec doing the same method he told me. Also ive got some bfg radials going on soon, should i try launching higher with those?
You should launch MUCH higher with BFG drag radials.. the whole point of gettin those tires is so you can launch higher and hook harder off the start.. i'd say u should launch no lower than 4k with the radials, possibly much higher.. you're just going to have to try it out and see what works best for you tho..
i had to do the same thing with my prelude swap. it works with bald tires, but i got bfg's now and i launch at 7-8k now with my type r swap.
i launched between 3500-4200 on azenis in my gsr and started spraying around the 60foot line, but if i had it to do over again i'lda tried higher. the tires need to spin a little off the line or you'll bog or wheelhop. St least thats my experience
I launch at ~ 4500 (give or take 500) with Good year HPs. I drag the clutch out and it seems to work great. (2.20 60' )
Also, I keep my tires pumped up. Lowering the pressure lowers my 60' times. It's a common misconception to lower pressure in street tires. (it's because of how street tires deflate, you will actually lose traction).

I deflate my street tires to help with wheel hop. If I had traction bars I probably wouldn't though. Btw, I'm getting consistent 2.15's in my 60' in h22 sol with tires deflated to about 18 psi. Running normal tire pressure, the best I can do is 2.3's.
