quick yes or no...can a 3 inch downpipe be made a/c compatible?
a 3 inch downpipe came with some other stuff that i bought together...i think it looks custom made...i am planning on keeping my a/c...i put the drag mani and this dp on the turbo and just from eyeballing it, it looks like it will clear my a/c..all the 3 in dp i have seen on here doesnt clear the a/c though...can you clearly see just by eyeballing or do you have to put it on and find out...im just asking because i am planning to put it in in 2 weeks after my smog...i dont want any downtime trying to find a new dp...anyone got info on this
I don't think that it will clear with that manifold, but I can't say for sure. If you want to keep AC look into an AC compatible manifold that will probably mount the turbo facing the other way, so that the downpipe will run towards that radiator rather than the AC compressor.
its possible. very very hard with the drag manifold however. alot easier with inlinepro/revhard/blox manifold i can do 3" ac all day.
I think I'll chime in haha....I just made a 3" DP for my drag kit. The 3" will fit but as said before it will be a pain in the *** and you have to "make" it fit.
However, the exhaust housing on my turbo T3/T4 .57 is only 2.5" so I couldn't put the 3" DP up to the turbo (it was impossible at that point). Sooo I have about 6-8 iches of 2.5" coming from the turbo then flaring to 3" (while changing plains and also bending...that was a huuuuggge pain in the *** to try and fabricate haha). From there its easy.

but im using only a 54 trim t3/t04 also...the flange is only 2.5 inch i think, but the pipe is 3 inches...from eyeballing it is seem like it will fit...i guess i will have to try though...if not ill make it fit by using a hammer
...because i know if it dont fit perfectly, all it will take is a lil dent...the dp already has some dents so owell...more input

All I can say after making mine, is that I wish I had at least the revhard manifold. That would have made life soooo much easier...seeing as there not multiple bends/plain changes like with the drag manifold.
Give a shot, I used the flare because I didn't want to use a hammer haha....but you can definitely get it to fit though if you try hard enough (hammer). The bend will be pretty severe coming right off the turbo so that you can clear the a/c. Also, with the severe bend, the piping ends will not be 3". Since you'll need to cut it at an angle, the end will be oval shaped which is why it's ridiculously hard to fit the 3" DP (without a hammer).

it is a pretty tite bend...they made a dent by the lowest bolt hole so you can actually fit a bolt into it...otherwise their would be no way of fitting a bolt because of the tite bend...i just noticed why it was their after looking at it long enough...hopefully it works well...dont know who the hell made it...bought it from some local guys here...their not the ones who made it eithier
yea, you have to put that bolt in the hole before you weld the new pipe to the flange....the pipe will then hold that bolt in place.
