Default B18 - What's the difference?

Just noticed on Hmotorsonline, there's a price-difference of 400 dollars on the 96-96 versus the 98+. Can anyone tell me why that is? Is the 98+ just rare?

98 is newer so relatively less miles, they also were hand PP instead of machined and don't forget the ever so nice 4.7 FD in the transmission.

I think you are refering to OBD 2a and OBD 2b. I believe they are both obd2a, someone please correct me if I am wrong. I am not 100% sure on this.

Right, so if you're plannin' on goin' with different cams 'n intake, would the FD be worth the extra 400 quid?
Or is that more of a matter of taste, than an actual difference in performance?
