New to Honda-Tech, Want to buy a ITR
Hey how is it going? I'll start off with tell a little about myself. I'm in the Marine Corps currently in Iraq, but I'm saving up some good money and plan on buying a ITR. I drove my friends GSR and I thought these were really nice cars. But I never really had the money to afford one.
Right now I have a 93 2.3 Turbo Mustang. It's pretty fast, but it's about time to move on to another project. So I decided to look for a ITR. Turbo's are fun and all but there is no feeling like all Motor, if you know what I mean. I'm going to read up and see what I can find..wish me luck..later,
Mike

Welcome to HT and thank you for serving our country
Since you have some time, take a look around and at the FAQ sticky at the top of this forum:

Here are some links discussing what to look at when buying an R:

What you are looking to do is asked and posted often. But when considering getting a car like this you need to look at all your options and seriously think about the cars safety and or where you'd park, store it and or what else you'd daily drive ESPECIALLY since you're from Dirty Jersey, the Bermuda Triangle of Type-R's.
It's not a car you can even think of taking to the mall and just parking it out in the open. It is still a very strong thief magnet that requires many of us to store and daily drive something else.
Stay safe and good luck!

When do you return? How much do you want to spend? My son is a lance corporal with 8th Marine Division, on his way to Persian Gulf now. Safe return to you and all our forces currently overseas.
First off thanks for serving, my brother recently got back. Second it's about what you want. Do you want something stock or close to stock? You can find one with tasteful mods usually at the same or lower price. Be patient. Don't jump on the first car that you find. Do your research.

I live real close to Lawrenceville. My advice is don't buy an ITR unless you have a gauranteed garage spot for it every night.
sad but true. I have had 2 hondas stolen from my house and neither was as nice/desirable as an ITR.

Mmmm, Type R. Represent everything that Honda is about! But yeah, search 'stolen' in the ITR forum. That's the worst part about the Type R.
