A s2k is way different and in terms of mods. cheap and s2000 should never be in the same sentence.

To answer your question. Headers are great mods, but I think the best mod that will help performance will be a Final drive. If you want to make it sounds cool. Intake, header, exhaust oh **** your fast mods are always the first steps. DC, Aem, toda, spoon, jic, All have great stuff search a little.

does ur mom really want fart cannons on her car?

s2k exhausts are like 1000...u might find some that are cheaper, but the amuse gets a from me.

headers..toda? j's racing..

intake..apc, j's,mugen

FD's are expensive and they are expensive to install :\

everything for the s2k is expensive!

Okay dont listen to either of them recommending DC Sports of APC as halfway decent products. But you also dont have to spend an arm and a leg on hardcore stuff, especially for your mother who probably doenst care. Does your mom really want you to hook up her car?

You can get plenty of high quality exhaust for the S2k for under 1000$, for example Spugen or Invidia. You can always go Comptech for the less loud deal.

What exactly are you looking for? Or her?
This is one of those questions that are impossible to answer without knowing the motive.

The final drive recommendation was good, but I dont really think he will be doing anything near that for someone else's car, especially his mother's.

The final drives are not as expensive as you think, they are just mazda units that can be had for relatively cheap, actually I think that the install would cost more than the final drive itself...search on S2ki for more info.

As for "hooking" up your mom's car...most everything that sounds good and makes power is gonna be pricey...but I think that the best bang for the buck would be T1R exhaust and test pipe. Makes the car a little loud but god...sounds like pure sex, period. K&N makes a really nice intake for relatively cheap (about $270) also makes good power too. Final drive is going to be a good mod too, especially if you don't really want to change the look or sound of the car. It all depends on your budget, well and your mom.

DC Header actually loses power on the S2000, just FYI.

the problem is... with different mods, you can do more harm to the car than you can help it. it isn't like other cars where you can throw a bunch of aftermarket parts on it and you'll see some gains. you can spend 6 thousand bucks and actually lose power.

a drop in filter is a nice gesture. do that, leave it alone. make sure it has the proper tires and keep the oil changed with mobile 1.

I wasnt making fun...i was giving opinion, leave your mom's car alone.

I'm curious now though...the AP1 has a drop in filter? I know our's came with a cone style filter, figured the AP1 was the same...

it will "kinda" work. not as efficiently as the stock filter, but it will "work". improvements? well, you get to wash it instead of replacing the paper element. that's about it.

I do know grammar books are great investments.

"he noticed a difference in power" - that's the butt dyno talking to your friend. (no offense)

Heck, I have one too. it does nothing.. zip, zilch. oh wait, it does shave off some pounds. 22lbs down to 12lbs. very pretty piece. I just wish it did more.
