Last night i was driving home on highway 50. as i was merging onto highway 80, theres this bend in the road i love flying around, well halfway through it my car bounced a lil bit from the cracks in the road and SHUT OFF ! now im still in the turn doing about 80 MPH. I simply put the clutch in and started the car.

Looked at my friend like...wtf !? we stopped got out and checked the battery cables, they're fine. So we started back on the freeway, right before the exit we needed to get off on, which is another fun bend in the road, my car shuts off again ! this time i was doing about 90mph.

What could it be if its not the battery or battery cables? Is my engine just finally dieing becuz i beat the crap out of it everyday?

 

were you low on fuel?possibly sloshing the fuel away from the pickup.
does the car lose electrical power,or does just the engine die?

3/4 tank of gas. not sure if it keeps all the power. My deck doesnt work anyways, so i cant tell by that. My headlights stayed on, my gauge lights stayed on.

 

Main Relay
Fuse box under hood.
Alternator

Those are things I have had problems with in the same category as your car

 

I checked all my fuses, they are all fine.

As for the relay and alternator, I dont know how to check them besides taking it off the car and going to autozone.

i can bet you its the electrical portion of the igniton swich

 

check the alternater housing. it might need to be replaced mine did that right after i got a full tune up. And it turned out it was that

DUDE its not the engine that is the problem why wont you listen to me its the electrical portion of your ignition swich its going to do the same thing after you do the swap that it did before

 

BADEG4 is probably right on the money. You know there was a recall for a lot of 96-00 hatchbacks for the ignition switch, right? For this EXACT same thing...
