what does a pinion gear do? and where is it located.....
here's the deal I've had ALL the bearings replaced in my transmission and it still makes these two DISTINCT noises
noise #1-a grinding/churning noise while in neutral with foot OFF the clutch...gets louder as a rev the engine...
noise #2-a loud high pitched whining that gets louder at higher rpm's/speeds in ANY gear....but as soon as I press the clutch the sound is gone....also if i hold down the clutch and put it in other gears it makes the whine sound fora split second when I slam it into the gear...keep in mind the gear is just rolling at 45-50mph with the clutch still in...
P.S. nosie is coming from the tranny on the side where the gears are...also reverse is sometimes a bitch to get into
could it be a pinion gear??? i have NO clue what it is....I've brought it in and replaced all my bearings and it obviously wasn't that

I replaced my mainshaft bearing my two driveshaft bearings my throwout bearing and my input shaft bearing....I think that's it...not sure though....I put my car on a lift and spun the tires and the noise was coming from where the gears are in my tranny

like i said before, i don't think it's necessarily anything in the tranny..... and if it were your bearings, and you paid someone $100 to replace them, i highly doubt the work was even considered...
just turn up the damn radio. and get all those fuggin gay parts off your car..

I paid him 325 to replace them..he charged me 200 the first time...and then since it wasn't fixed he only charged me 125 to drop the tranny a 2nd time...I was there when he replaced the gears
well, then there's nothing wrong with your tranny then. look elsewhere to diagnose said sounds.
oh, TAKE THAT DAMN FIRE EXTINGUISHER OFF THE PASSENGER SIDE A PILLAR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I've been told that ACT clutchs are only good up to 8000 rpm, perhaps it

lol I hope not....I'll check that as well though...but I have no problems getting into gear...except for reverse sometimes hehe....oh and PS....the noise is coming from the complete opposite side of the tranny so pretty sure it's not the clutch heheeh

i had the same problem. check your spark plug fluid... somehow mine was mixing with coolant and causing overuse of the clutch.
