Default Cluster needle removal

Whats up fellas, hoping to get some good feedback, I am working on a project that involves my cluster on my acura CL. I seen later model integra's and appear to have the same cluster needle set up. I would like to know the exact most PROPER method of removing the needles. after some research on HT, it appears that it is really a matter of prying them open by pullin up EVENLY. is this so?? what tools if any?

use ur hands. they do come off with a little bit of force. if u need to use a flat head screwdriver, just be careful.

i hope u have some way of recalibrating the needles to their proper place.. once u pull off the needles they just dont go right back on and read properly..

recalibrating the needles usually needs some type of computer(laptop/pda) with the proper software program and a way to hook it up so the car and computer can "talk" to each other..

My project involves transfering 97cl gauges that are now BLACK to 97CL guages in WHITE "both stock". I was told about "flexing" them over the needle but I think this might cause a crease or permanent dent. Has you heard of this method? And is there really risk to cause a crease?
Thanks agian,, what ever feedback helps..

The problem is honda paints the back of the CL guages durring the factory process. THe paint they use makes my acura CL cluster glow with a PUKE GREEN color, nasty! i plan on stipping that color off with alot of care and hopfully make them glow "white" vs green.. However I want to carefully remove the guages without haveing to recalibrate the obdomiters,, any secrets to achiving this? advice?
