Default JDM ITR 4.7FD Tranny User's... how does it like boost?

Well Im going to be crossing over to the dark side. I already have a JDM itr tranny with the 4.7 and LSD.

I was wondering how your tranny's like the boost and is there any downside to them with Boost.

Thanks guys

i dont like it no traction on first or sencond gear. i think a si tranny with lsd is better or a gsr with LSD. just my 2 cent. may be if it's a full race car with 26x9x13's then u might be able to pull some nice time with those gears

I have no traction in first and second, I barely keep the traction with part throttle. Slicks would definately be a different story. Overall Im happy, Im sure you will be also. It will make you a better driver being that you have to concentrate on keeping traction...no more just slammin gears and keeping it straight.

you will hate that tranny. honestly you will. cruising on the highway doing 80mph and revving at like 5k sucks ***. I would have people ask me if I was going to shift, but I was already in 5th gear. If your car is a track car, mos def. Daily driver, install at your own risk

4.7fd + boost = 4gear tranny, thats how useless 1st becomes, you will never use it.

heres the run down.

B16 tranny = strip, light to light
Gsr tranny= strip/highway
Ls tranny = highway ( long *** gears )

the ITR/CTR trannys as similar to the B16 1-4th gear major difference is the final drive and the face they come with a Lsd

choose your tranny based on how you plan to use the car

I have an ITR/Si ratio tranny and I put shitloads of highway miles on it. There is absolutely nothing wrong with a B16/ITR ratio tranny for the highway. As for the 4.7 FD, you may went to find a USDM ITR tranny to swap someone or just switch out your FD and counter shaft.

Put the 4.7 in the LS and it will be a semi decent tranny..

I've wanted to do it forever, but just havent.
