HONDA-TECH MASTERS,
i have a buddy with a 97 cx hatch BONE STOCK,

-problem started on and off here and there but now.......
-Has very poor idle and sometimes dies.....sometimes does not start on first crank.
-CIL come on right after being reset.

-Has new Ignitor and coil

-also vehicle is up-to-date on all maintenece(plugs, wires, cap, rotor, fuel filter, battery)

-throws cel codes p0301-p0304, p1300, and p1399 (all mean in some way mis-fire i know this already) except p1399 can not be found on the honda-tech codes list (searched elsewhere and found it to be Manfacurer Contrl. Ignition System or Misfire)


-engine has never been apart, timing belt was recently checked for tension(ok)

any info would be great.

I have a 00' si thats having the same prob. #3 cylinder stopped firing, code reader says cyl. 3 & 4 missfire and random missfire. code numbers p1399, p0303, p0304, p0300... anybody know what P1399 is?? I've replaced distributor cap and rotor button.
NEED INFO!!!

 

I beleive p1399 is somethning to do with random misfire.

 

do what i did: my civic was idling pretty low too and cel came on so i took it to a honda dealership near my house... i or any of my buddies couldn't figure it out (and we checked everything) so i didn't mind paying $128 for diognostics. well, honda checked it out and it came up being a faulty 02 sensor. turns out honda made a deal regarding smog emissions and they had to do a required tune-up on 96-97 civics with mileage in between 75k-150k. new 02 sensor, distributer, plugs, wires, oil, and filter and even a wash and a vacuum. tell ur buddy to check with his local honda dealership cause the whole service was free (diognostics was waived bc it was smog related).

 

ok just found out that i lost compression in cylinder 3, new motor goes in on monday!!!!

think that's what mine's gonna be... same cylinder too!! Getting checked tomorrow...

 

Yup, number 3 on mine didn't even make the needle move on the compression checker, anybody know a good place to find a replacement b16a2, i know about h motors but wouldn't mind lookin for some others.

 

i got mine from http://www.modernimports.com/ for 400 bucks.....had only 50,000 miles on it and they offer warranty's 6 month 5% of total and 1year 10% or something like that. They offer shipping and credit card forms too. They r located in saint louis.
