ignitor question, maybe??? tried searching results didn't answer ?'s
HONDA-TECH MASTERS,
i have a buddy with a 97 cx hatch BONE STOCK, this may not be an ignitor problem but i think it is(if i'm wrong shows how much i know )
here it goes,
-problem is very speratic, high rpm, low rpm, and at idle
-no noticable power is lost when the cel comes on (but cel DOES flash during the moment that is picking up the code)
-compared the resistance from old and new ingnition coils on meter and check out to be the same
-also vehicle is up-to-date on all maintenece(plugs, wires, cap, rotor, fuel filter, battery)
-throws cel codes p0301-p0304, p1300, and p1399 (all mean in some way mis-fire i know this already) except p1399 can not be found on the honda-tech codes list (searched elsewhere and found it to be Manfacurer Contrl. Ignition System or Misfire)
-after resetting codes vehicle will die at idle until it is driving at least 10 miles at a higher rpm (just my way of keeping it running) and then will not die at idle but idle is still sloppy, evenutually codes will come back.
-engine has never been apart, timing belt was recently checked for tension(ok)
t.i.a.

well if you have a Hitachi type dizzy, then swap the ingition module with someone elses Hitachi module (92-00 will swap) thats about the cheapest route to find out if it is that for sure.

It has a TEC coil and a hitachi ICM in dizzy, Does this seem normal? I figured if it had an hitachi ICM it would have a hitachi coil.
