Bad fuel injectors causing my 96dx EK to die on the road?????
This happens occasionally. i took a 35 min drive and was costing on the freeway after going 75mph i put it on neutral and the cars idle went crazy low and then died. it did this a couple of times everytime i would go to a stop my rpms would drop like crazy. i checked the timing and everything was good. what could this be the only thing i could think of is a bad fuel injector. did anyone else experience anything like this. if i do have to change my injectors which ones would i get. im not looking to spend alot of money on new injectors cause my new motor is getting build as we speak and i just need this problem solved on my stock motor for now. thanks in advance for anyone who gives my their input.
If your fuel injector was bad wouldn't you have drivablity probs through out the rpm span. Are you getting any kind of lean o2 code or misfire code?
im kinda new at this how would i be able to verify that? if this helps im running stock all i did was unbolt my exhaust? and add a system and a radio. and it only happens when the car is warmed up? im thinking maybe a dirty air filter i have to check my timming again?
i bet its a bad 02 sensor... i had the same problem, got fed up with it and took it to a honda dealership... bc it was a smog related problem they replaced it for free and also did a full tune-up with all the fixins (free new sh*t is always good!)... btw, this is only good for 96-97 civics.
good luck!
good luck!
